Next stop : Monaco

Stay tuned : next luxury stop : Monaco ! :-)

I hope that you enjoyed what I tried to share with you, my luxury experience in Paris. Feel free for any comments, and stay tuned for my next trip in Monaco !

Veuve Clicquot vs Taittinger, in love with bubbles !

5th DAY : Champagne is always a good idea

How to end on a high note ????

Obviously, my favorite day…

Visiting those two Maisons was a great pleasure and very rewarding too. I’ve tasted grape variety one by one, without bubbles and at the end, mixed, really surprising and different from the Champagne – at Veuve Clicquot. The story is well told and we can feel like the Maison used to belong to a real family thanks to the story telling around the brand.

Taittinger was a bit disappointing for me… First of all, contrary to Veuve Clicquot, this Maison still belongs to a family, the Taittinger one. But the way it is presented it is more about marketing, communication, « bling-bling » and not enough about old and strong values regarding the fabulous storytelling they could have. For example, even if they choose Vitalie Taittinger as the icon of the brand, meaning that they want the brand familial, it is more a marketing and communication action for me. But tasting was great : their Rose Champagne was pretty great… ;-)

Luxury places, concept stores, you made my day

4th DAY : Paris, a place full of surprises !

L’Eclaireur, Astier de Villatte,  Verbreuil, Ex Nihilo, Palais Royal, Francesco Russo, Mad Lords, Jovoy. Common point ? Luxury, rarity, niche. All those stores or concept stores are mixing luxury trends. What makes them unknown for a lot of people makes them special for connoisseurs.

Niche markets, that make you feel some kind of special… You had an idea of luxury ? You will be surprised by those stores. Amazing ! The perception of each of us seems quite wrong. You want this perfume but with more vanilla ? No problem. You prefer those shoes but with crocodile ? It is possible. This bag but red and with another handle ? Of course.

Personalization, made-to-measure, living an experience are THE core values.

Chanel, Dior and other famous have to behave themselves !

The Chocolate Factory, Patrick Roger

3rd DAY : Between art gallery and chocolate factory, let’s discover Patrick Roger’s world

Passioned by art, Patrick Roger makes his work an art. Each creation is unique and is inspired by his travels for example the gorilla from Rwanda. Even if he is famous and well known for its truffles, he makes the world of chocolate different. Chocolate lovers you will love that ! Never forget that all you need is love.. or even more chocolate because it does not ask silly question, it does understand.

Food and Wine day

3rd DAY : Food and Wine are all we need !

Hanging out at Le Bon Marché is always a pleasure, even more when there is Chiharushiota’s exhibition

Walking and discovering the cellar was one of the best moment. So many references ! They also have a « private selection » in a small room with only a few bottles, very rare and expensive (a lot of Bordeaux, some Burgundy, American, Rhone valley and New Zealand). So great !

What a pleasure.. And at the same time a torture this culinary moment ! La Grande Epicerie is full of.. everything that seems so appetizing ! Everything looks amazing, colors are delightful, meals smell so good, products are so rare (like the « citron caviar »)

And finally… the most amazing bottle of Le Bon Marché / La Grande Epicerie. A famous Single Malt Whisky of 50 years old, from Scotland. Sounds amazing… Be careful, 19 000€ only !

L’Ecole supported by Van Cleef & Arpels

2nd DAY afternoon : L’Ecole, such a great school from 7 to 77 years old (and even more..)

With one access Place Vendôme and another one Rue Danielle Casanova, l’Ecole is located in a very beautiful area and benefits from Van Cleef & Arpels financial support and renown.

The team will be pleased to welcome you in this very beautiful place in small groups (maximum 12 people) for lessons of 4 hours. They are given by professional such as jewelers, experts, watchmakers, gemologists.

They propose discovery courses regarding three different topics : the know how, the history of jewels’s art and the world of stones.

My number one

« An unexpected, sulphurous and addictive scent »

This kind of perfume makes me crazy, that is as simple as that. A powder fragrance, so feminine ! Beautiful and classic packaging mixing white and golden colors. A perfect match...
Expensive for some people, but a real pleasure for other (such as me). For sure, I finish mine and I'll buy it !

Le Grand Musée du Parfum

2nd DAY : Hidden in Paris !

Second day of my luxury trip in Paris.. Rendez vous Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, new place, new store… AMAZING ! Welcome in another world !

Settled in a private mansion, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, the Grand Musée du Parfum evolves in an elegant and luxurious world, symbol of the art of French way of life. First residence of masters gardeners in the 17th century, then residence of bourgeois owners, the hotel was then inhabited by a painter who gave it his name, Etienne Moreau-Nélaton. Continuing to attract the world of art, the hotel, after being the headquarters of the lingerie brand Scandale, became, in 1987, the one of the Maison Christian-Lacroix.

Lots of perfumes, brands, that you can buy at the Musée. Next article : discover my favorite one ;-)

Perfume and Olfactory Experience

Capture d’écran 2017-02-18 à 15.54.35

1st DAY : Let’s enjoy and discover how I made my own perfume !

First of all, I really want to thank Mrs Frossard from Candora‘s factory who took some time to teach us and share with us her passion.

We can not say that I am passioned by perfume and cosmetics but I admit that I loved what we did. Creating my own perfume is a way to be able to show and express my personality through this.

I would like to be able to give you my recipe but actually, I don’t remember at all.. You put some orange blossom, a touch of vanilla and my secret ingredient !

For further information, here is the link to their website

Have fun with it !

Dear readers,

My name is Mathilde and I am a 23 years old student in Luxury Brand Management Food & Wine at INSEEC Bordeaux.

As I achieve my last year of studies, I decided to create my own blog in order for you to follow my luxury trip in Paris and Monaco :-)

Passioned by gastronomy and especially wine, I hope that you will enjoy, as I did, my posts. This blog is also composed of several articles regarding the luxury sector itself because as you probably understood, my goal is to work in a luxury group.

Have fun and think luxury !
